Faculty of Mathematics, Physics&Technical Sciences

The Faculty offers studies to about 2000 students in four majors:

  1. Mathematics
  2. Physics
  3. Computer Science
  4. Technical and Information Education
  5. Materials engineering
  6. Security engineering
  7. Mechatronics

Students can choose between regular and part-time courses: 3-year bachelor and 2-year master studies. Doctoral studies are also offered supervised by the Institute of Key Technical Problems of the Polish Academy of Sciences. We are working on obtaining the right to confer the PhD degree in technical sciences, in the field of mechanical engineering.

The Faculty employs 98 academic staff: 26 professors, including 13 professors titular, 1 reader, 41 senior lecturers and 30 assistants as well as 28 teaching staff.

The Faculty’s major task is to provide IT training in state-of-the-art computer labs, offered to IT majors following the course of BSc (eng.) but also to other majors, including mathematics, physics and technical and IT education. Our range of studies includes teacher studies in technical and IT education as well as mathematics teacher specialisation.

The Faculty’s research covers mathematics, physics and technical studies. In each of these fields the Faculty academics have major scientific achievements thanks to well-established cooperation with major Polish and international scientific centres. The Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the Environment and Applied Information Technology enjoys the highly prestigious status of a Centre of Excellence.
