Physical basics of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging is a unique course in Poland, established specifically for the needs of the Oncology Center. It is a dual-track course offered by Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz in collaboration with Prof. Franciszek Łukaszczyk Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz.
First-cycle (bachelor’s) dual-track course — organized in collaboration with Prof. Franciszek Łukaszczyk Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz
Unlike other medical physics courses offered at various universities, it is characterised by a large number of practical, rather than purely theoretical, activities, and is a target course. This course was created with the aim of recruiting new, highly qualified staff for Prof. Franciszek Łukaszczyk Oncology Center and other oncology centers in the country. Some of the Oncology Center’s staff are medical physicists who participate in the diagnostic and therapeutic process, from patient planning to treatment (determining the radiation dose for the tumor and protecting sensitive organs), through patient irradiation (radiotherapy and brachytherapy), and ending with various diagnostic procedures. Graduates of the course in physical basics of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging will be equipped with practical skills and the most up-to-date knowledge in their field of study.
The course is given in Polish.
