More than 70 speakers from 9 countries at the Cyber Conference

On 27–28 May 2026, the International Scientific Conference “The Individual and the State in Cyberspace: Between Freedom and Control” will be held at the Library of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz.

The event is organised by the Faculty of Political Science and Administration of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and the Regional Centre for International Debate for Wielkopolskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

The conference will bring together more than 70 speakers from 9 countries, who will discuss the most important challenges related to the functioning of individuals, societies and states in cyberspace.

The conference topics include, among others, freedom and privacy in the digital environment, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital resilience, disinformation, information warfare, human rights, digital accessibility, media education, e-administration and the digitalisation of public services.

The aim of the event is to exchange knowledge and experience and to create a space for reflection on how to responsibly manage digital technologies, strengthen citizens’ digital competences, and build the resilience of societies and states against new threats.

The conference is held under the Honorary Patronage of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivode Michał Sztybel, the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Piotr Całbecki, the Mayor of the City of Bydgoszcz Rafał Bruski, the Chairwoman of the Bydgoszcz City Council Monika Matowska, the Rector of Kazimierz Wielki University, Prof. Bernard Mendlik, NASK, and the Polish Political Science Association.

The media patronage of the event was granted by TVP3 Bydgoszcz and Polskie Radio PiK.

The partners of the conference are the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and ORLEN.

The conference has also been included in the list of jubilee events celebrating the 20th anniversary of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz.
