Ministry of Science and Higher Education – call for proposals in the National Program for the Development of Humanities competition

Deadline for submitting applications to the Ministry – July 28, 2025.

The competition provides for the financing of projects in three modules:

Module “Heritage + – Research Projects” – multi-year research projects of particular importance to national, European, or global cultural heritage or contemporary culture (maximum project duration is 60 months, and maximum implementation cost is PLN 1,800,000).
Module “New Challenges – Research Projects” – multi-year research projects on the humanistic aspects of contemporary civilizational challenges, in particular:

  • the climate and ecological crisis,
  • digital technologies, including artificial intelligence systems and their consequences socio-cultural and cognitive aspects,
  • changes in work and everyday life,
  • the crisis in education,
  • the mental health crisis,
  • geopolitical changes,
  • migration,
  • epidemics,
  • wars and terrorism,
  • new economic models

(the maximum project duration is 60 months, and the maximum cost of implementation is PLN 1,800,000).

The “Socrates – Book disseminating research results” module – popularization of scientific research results in the field of humanities and other disciplines (the maximum project duration is 18 months, and the maximum cost of implementation is PLN 80,000).
Complete applications prepared in the OSF system can be submitted for verification by the Science Department until July 14, 2025, and a signed internal application for project funding supported by the Dean/Director of the Institute and the Head of the Department/Unit must be submitted. Applications that are not made available to the Science Department staff by the specified date will not be verified and will not be sent to the Ministry.
