National Science Center – SONATA BIS 15 competition
Deadline for submitting applications to the NCN – September 16, 2025, 2:00 p.m.
The competition is open to researchers who obtained their doctoral degree between 5 and 12 years prior to the year of application. Research projects should aim to establish a new research team conducting basic scientific research.
The competition allows for research projects lasting 36, 48, or 60 months.
Apart from the project manager, the project team cannot include persons holding an academic title, the title of professor, a postdoctoral degree or equivalent qualifications, or persons who have previously collaborated on a research project financed through a competition. It is mandatory to involve a doctoral student or students for a total period of at least 36 months.
A person may only be the project manager for one research project under the SONATA BIS competition.
By August 31, 2025, a complete application prepared in the OSF system must be made available for verification by the Science Department, and a signed internal application for project funding, supported by the Dean/Director of the Institute and the Head of the Department/Unit, must be submitted to the Science Department.
Applications that are not made available to the Science Department staff by the specified date will not be verified and will not be sent to the NCN.
