National Science Center – SONATINA 10 competition
Deadline for submitting applications to the NCN – March 16, 2026, 2:00 p.m.
The aim of the competition is to support the careers of young researchers by creating opportunities for full-time employment and conducting scientific research in Poland, as well as enabling them to gain knowledge and experience during internships at high-quality foreign research centers.
The competition is open to individuals who hold a doctoral degree obtained in the year of application or within three years prior to the year of application (between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025) or who will be awarded a doctoral degree by May 15, 2026. The 3-year period may be extended by breaks in the scientific career. The project manager should obtain their doctoral degree at an institution other than UKW.
The project may be planned for 24 or 36 months.
The application must include plans for:
- The employment of a full-time project manager on the basis of an employment contract (full-time salary);
- a 3- to 6-month internship at a foreign research center. The project manager will be required to submit an application for funding for the internship abroad under the NAWA program created specifically for SONATINA competition winners.
Complete applications prepared in the OSF system can be submitted for verification by the Science Department until March 2, 2026.
Until then, you should:
• make the completed application available to the Science Department staff in the OSF system,
• agree on a data management plan with the UKW Library, link
• submit the application form signed by all persons required by the form to the Science Department, link
Applications that are not made available to the Science Department staff by the specified deadline will not be reviewed and will not be sent to the NCN.
