New Kazimierz Wielki University Logo – A Step Toward a Cohesive University Image
UKW has a new logo! We saw it for the first time during the inauguration of the academic year, and now it is beginning to appear in university materials and communications. This marks a step toward a more cohesive and modern image of our University. The traditional UKW emblem will, of course, remain with us as a symbol of continuity, history, and the academic spirit of the University.
The new logo of Kazimierz Wielki University, presented during the inauguration of the academic year and in the University’s official materials, is the first element of a broader process aimed at unifying the visual identity of our Alma Mater.
Alongside it, the UKW emblem will continue to be used as a symbol of tradition, continuity, and academic identity. Both elements will coexist – the logo will be used in everyday communication and promotional activities, while the emblem will remain reserved for official and ceremonial contexts.
A Cohesive Visual Identity System
Work is currently underway on the next elements that will together form a consistent and comprehensive visual identity system for our University. The implementation of this system will ensure a unified and professional image across all areas of University activity – from official documents to digital and promotional media.
Stage I – Brand Book
Deadline: October 31, 2025
The development of the brand book, describing the rules for using the new logo, is currently in progress.
The primary logo is already available at: promocja.ukw.edu.pl
Stage II – Practical Application of the Logo
Deadline: November 30, 2025
In collaboration with an advertising agency, templates for various materials are being prepared, including:
- business cards and letterhead templates,
- templates for invitations, diplomas, and certificates,
- building signage system (plaques, directional signs),
- email footers and PowerPoint presentation templates,
- logos for organizational units (faculties/institutes with color distinctions).
These materials will be gradually published and made available for download on a new subpage dedicated to the visual identity system. The launch of this page will be announced in a separate communication.
Stage III – Implementation in University Materials
Deadline: December 31, 2025
This phase marks the beginning of the gradual introduction of new designs and visual communication formats across the University.
Individual units will be able to start incorporating the new elements into their daily operations.
Work on the redesign of the University website will also begin (a process lasting several months).
Transition Period – Time to Embrace the New Image
The fourth quarter will serve as a transition period, during which we will gradually adapt to the University’s new visual identity.
This is a time for adaptation, not revolution. During this period, it is still possible to use materials featuring the previous logo. At the same time, those who wish to do so may already download and use the new logo in their current communication activities.
However, this is not mandatory until the process is formally concluded by a Rector’s decree, which will officially introduce the new visual identity system and make its use obligatory from the beginning of the new calendar year.
