Dr Magdalena Grabowska from the Faculty of Psychology at Kazimierz Wielki University has been appointed President of the National Board of the Polish Therapeutic Society. She will lead an association bringing together specialists involved in prevention and in supporting people experiencing developmental and health-related difficulties.

The Society brings together professionals from a variety of fields and specialisations, providing a platform for exchanging knowledge and fostering cooperation in psychological, educational, social and sexological support. Its specialist sections focus on areas including mental health, marriage and family counselling, and therapy for people with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Psychologist, Sexologist and Researcher

Dr Magdalena Grabowska is a psychologist, sexologist and member of the Faculty of Psychology at UKW. Her research interests include human sexual development, stereotypes associated with gender and ageing, and development throughout adulthood.

She has authored publications on topics such as human sexuality at different stages of life, sexuality education and gender stereotypes.

In 2021, the Polish Minister of Health recognised her academic and professional achievements as equivalent to the completion of specialist training in psychosexology. Dr Grabowska also holds professional certificates as a specialist in sexology, a marriage and family counsellor, and a supervisor of sexuality educators.

Active Member of the UKW Community

At UKW, Dr Grabowska serves as the academic supervisor of the Student Sexology Society. She is also a member of the Rector’s Committee for Gender Equality and editorial secretary of the Polish Psychological Forum.

In recognition of her work, she has received several distinctions, including the Medal of the Commission of National Education and the Bronze Cross of Merit.
