Review procedure

  1. The secretariat of the editorial board of the journal “World of Ideas and Politics” performs initial verification of the submitted papers, checking their adequacy with the journal's profile and compliance with editorial requirements.
  2. Papers meeting formal requirements are the subject to a two-stage review procedure.
  3. The first review is internal. It is carried out by the managing editor appointed for each text - according to the substantive criterion. The authors of papers are obliged to take into account the comments of the managing editor.
  4. Papers accepted by the managing editors are sent for external reviews.
  5. Each paper is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers from outside Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. Reviewers fill out the review form, which is available on the journal's website. [Attachment 1.]
  6. In case of papers in a foreign language, one of the reviewers is most often affiliated with a foreign institution.
  7. In the external review process, both the author and reviewers are anonymous in accordance with the "double-blind" principle.
  8. The review contains the reviewer's unequivocal conclusion regarding the admission or rejection of the paper.
  9. The managing editor watches whether the authors take into account the comments of the reviewers.
  10. The condition for admission of the paper for publication are two positive external reviews. In an exceptional situation, the editor-in-chief, after consulting the managing editor, may decide to allow the paper for publication with one positive external review.
  11. Once a year, the editorial board of the journal publishes on the journal's website the current list of reviewers cooperating with it.
  12. Detailed review principles of papers are in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science published in the booklet "Dobre praktyki w procedurach recenzyjnych w nauce" ["Good practices in academic review procedures"]. [Annex 2.]
  13. The journal has introduced procedures necessary to eliminate cases of scientific misconduct, including "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship". Therefore, when submitting a paper for publication, the author is obliged to submit a statement about the independent preparation of the paper and not infringing the rights of third parties. [Annex 3.] For papers prepared by a larger number of authors, information on the contribution of individual persons to the creation of the papers is attached.
  14. Authors are also obliged to assure that their papers are original works and have not been published, submitted, or accepted elsewhere in any form.
  15. The scientific board supervises the compliance of papers with the journal's profile and the correctness of the review procedure.
