Dr. Anirban Mukhopadhyay is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, Kazimierz Wielki University (UKW), Bydgoszcz, Poland. He specializes in geospatial technologies, remote sensing, GIS, coastal vulnerability, climate adaptation, and coupled hydrological–ecosystem modeling of river deltas and Arctic systems.
His work covers tropical deltas (Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna, Sundarbans, Mekong) and high-latitude environments (Mackenzie, Nelson, Arctic deltas), focusing on mangroves, blue carbon, sediment dynamics, nature-based solutions, and multi-hazard risk. With prior experience at the University of Manitoba (Canada), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), ISRO, and the World Bank, he is a highly cited researcher (approx. 4,800+ citations, h-index 33) who teaches remote sensing, environmental modeling, and related subjects.
